Having Google Analytics will encourage you to study your visitors and gives you opportunities to convert them to be faithful customers.
Steps to Setup Google Analytics to your Website
SignUp for Google Analytics
Google account would be sufficient to signup for Google Analytics. Visit www.google.com/analytics/ and click on signup. Enter your Email Id and password to access analytics. Once you have signed up, you will be directed to new account setup page.
Fill-In the Details
You will land up on page, where you need to fill-in some details to setup your account
Firstly enter the Account Name, which is the top-most level of the hierarchy , where under one account you can manage upto 100 analytics tracking IDs. Then enter the Website name and URL address. Specify the industry that your website belongs to & lastly enter the time zone using which google analytics would calculate your statistics as per your business day.
Data sharing options are completely optional, so its your wish to select or deselect the options given.
After filling up the details, Click on the “Get Tracking ID”.
Embed Tracking Code
When clicked on “Get Tracking ID”, you will land on to the following page, where you can find the tracking ID and tracking code.
Embedding of the tracking code is quite simple, Copy the tracking code and paste it into the HTML code of your website, just before the closing tag.
Once you embed the tracking code into your website HTML code, come back to the Google Analytics and check the status, it has to be “Receiving Data”. When the status changes, thats done!
Start Analyzing
Once your Google Analytics account is setup for your website, leave the analytics for about 24 hours to track some valuable data. Then get back your Google Analytics Reporting to analyze the data.
Google Analytics gives enormous data about your website and in initial stages it’s difficult to track which information is important. So take your time in the beginning and list all the important metrics that you want to analyze and act accordingly to enhance your website.
